We are in this weird societal dynamic right now where the abused are standing up to the abusers, but then are becoming abusers themselves, and they don't even realize it.

Back in the gay 90's we didn't know our neighbor listened to Judas Priest, wanted the death penalty for shoplifters, etc. Now we know too much about each other I think.

A lot of people seem to feel threatened by someone else having a different opinion than them. The world is a diverse place. If they think that the left and right have different ideas, they should go overseas, where their way of thinking and doing things are sometimes very different than ours.
