In a desperate search for happiness, a Nepali girl who loses her leg to a fire accident, facing stigma and family rejection, dares to compete in a national dance competition.

Did you notice that the villagers who are all gathered to watch her dance seemed less than enthusiastic? And considering much of the video talked about how the villagers and her parents were ashamed of her and treated her poorly, you have to wonder what their true thoughts were seeing someone make a documentary about her.

I think you are right. Some of it was clearly staged, but even so, their real emotions still seemed to bleed through. A camera crew came to shoot some video, so they gathered the whole village to watch. But the looks on some of their faces said everything. They weren't interested in the dancing, and many even seemed to show contempt at the attention she was getting.

I wonder if that was the creator's intent. Part of the video was about how people treated her badly, and even though everyone behaved in the video, you could see the contempt some people had for her.
