RSS resharing (again)

Alls; think I asked this before (but didn't manage to find the post): Is there a for-dummies explanation of how to reshare posts coming from an RSS feed to my Hubzilla channel...? I worked my way to install the channel sources app, add an rss feed to what seems my main channel and saved this. Little config option, no effect. Am I "just" doing it wrong, or did I miss something essential here...?

I usually set up RSS feeds on their own channel. I did not know you can add it to an existing channel.

if you pick the rss channel in the channel sources app the channel has to be recognized while typing the first letters - thank pick the showed name of your rss feed... if you just type in all the name it does not work.

Finally managed to get this to work somehow, which is neat - except for one thing: The channel source data import apparently doesn't have privacy configuration options and will repost/share anything coming from RSS as "private" / locked post. Is there some way to set this to public?

(And, slightly related all along these lines: Are "Friend" visibility posts synced between clones of a channel? At the moment, it somehow doesn't seem so, at least from zotum.net -> hub.netzgemeinde.eu?)

set channel role to public
/settings

and

deactivate the standard publishing group under

/group

I have been told that your channels, including posts & permissions, are supposed to sync. If they are not, then it is probably a bug and should be reported.

I have had some problems with syncing too. Maybe it is related to the issue of some sites having stuck outgoing queues.
