This is a story about the evolution of technology. It may appear to be framed as history but I make no claim to have separated errors, inaccuracies, interpretations, legend, myths, opinions, stories or tradition from fact. It is a multi-stranded story of man's curiosity, imagination and Innovation. It encompasses a wide range of activities to put man's dream of a better world into practice.
Before reading this story, please take a moment and ask yourself these 4 questions:
Can humanity survive without computer technology?
Can computer technology survive without humanity?

What does the answer to question 3 hold for the future of humanity?
Human evolution is driven by the recombination of genes. Human creativity is driven by a recombination of human curiosity, imagination, invention and innovation.
Technology evolves through the recombination of the products of human creativity and the application of our ever evolving human mind; making humanity in a sense, one with computer technology. This is why it is so important to understand technology's influence on humanity; some day it may come to either man ruling over machine or machine ruling over man. Let us hope it is the former.
