Once muskrat enshittified my place for news, sports, and general discussion. I left like many others for greener pastures. I initially choose Mastodon cause that's the first one I heard of that, according to the media, were open and accepting of casuals . I later came across @
Jupiter Rowlandarticle's on Mastodon. I immediately understood that the Fediverse was much more colorful than I thought. So being the consummate distro hopper that I am I tried Loforo, Friendica, Bluesky, Threads, Pixelfed, Peertube, Vimeo, et al.
Cause I don't want to ever have my battleship sunk again😂. Unfortunately, buying and administering my own server is too far for me right now. However, if I could inspire others to carry my efforts forward we could make something like hubzilla.monster for the tristate area of Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York.
Anyway here's an interesting article which posits that there are several non technical reliable alternatives to Win 11.
